Plissage and Fleur 2 (Pleats and Flowers)
Hello, I'm Lune.
Continuing from last time...
Once the swatches arrived, I immediately unfolded them one by one and wrapped them around my body.
OK, beautiful expression!
Qu'est ce que c'est beau!
Hmm... It's different from what I imagined, but it's not bad.
Ah bon... D'accord, Mais oui..Pour quoi pas, C'est pas mal...
Eh, is that what that fabric turned out like?
C'est vrai? Mais non, Ah oui.
Muttering to myself...
At this time, I was nervous, excited, and nervous. I also made countless mistakes.
When you feel that the texture itself is beautiful, be bold. Don't go to great lengths, and use scissors as little as possible. In such cases, leave the dress as rectangular. To bring out the simple beauty, carefully consider the length, volume, finishing, etc.
Square cut pleated dress
When things don't go as imagined and your vision becomes blurred, you start to feel frustrated.
It doesn't fully utilize the beauty of the texture. It's close, but it's not beautiful. It doesn't really appeal to me.
What's the difference???
Once that happens, we start working on the texture. We consult with the factory and struggle until we are satisfied. Some models are finally ready to be sent out into the world, but there are also many swatches waiting in the atelier.
Collar prototype (2018). The body design has not been decided yet, so it is being worked on in the atelier.
And sometimes the new pleated texture speaks to you, or rather, a conversation begins. Without warning, suddenly, in an instant, a journey of imagination begins. And because it is a journey of imagination, it can take you anywhere you like.
It was a dreamlike experience, like riding on a magic carpet or astride a falcon (white dragon).
Now that we have a vision, let's move on to creating a sample with our engineers...

A prototype of pleats and gathers. Parts that look like flowers. The beginning of a journey of imagination.
